remember

My dad passed away yesterday.  It was unexpected.  I realized I never took a photo of him.  I don't know why.  I guess I thought there would always be time.  

Below is an image he took while deployed to Iceland in the 1970s during his time in the Navy.  I scanned it and made a print for him a few Christmases ago.  

My dad was a big part of my photography.  I remember playing with his cameras as a kid.  I remember looking at his slides from far away places.  I have boxes of cameras he bought me over the past few years.  Some work....many don't.  I've used a few in my professional work.

That's a beautiful image , Neal. Sometimes, I feel like the images a person takes says more about them than images of that person. I hate when people say sorry for your loss, so I won't say it. Praying for your fam!
